Project
Three-tier Architecture with Secure Kubernetes Cluster on Amazon EKS
First sign in an IAM user, creating the control plane node, the EKS cluster. And the node group
Create a new role for the cluster. Go to IAM and create a new role.
Select the VPC and the Application subnet, and the cluster endpoint as private.
Provisioning of the compute capacity. Go to the compute tab, select Add Node Group.
Create a new role for the node group. Use case, EC2.
Select the EKS Worker Node Policy.
Search for the container on the search bar and select the EC2 container Registry read-only to pull the image from the ECR.
Select the Application subnets and choose or create a key pair and security group.
Two worker nodes are provisioned.
Creating internet-facing Web/Jump Servers.
SSH Onto the Jump server and access the Kubernetes cluster from the Jump server.
Install and configure the kubectl tool
Apply the chmod command to provide execute permissions to the Kube, and a command to create a bin directory in the home path.
Configure the terminal with AWS credentials. Including AWS access key and AWS secret access key.
Create Kubeconfig file for the Cluster.
Access the EKS cluster via Jump server using IAM role.
Ensure the cluster is accessible from the Jump server using “kubectl cluster-info” command.
And “kubectl get nodes” command to see the two crested nodes,
